Why convert to a vector at all?

Scales to anything

A traced vector is maths, not pixels. The same file is a favicon and the side of a van, sharp at both.

A machine can follow it

A blade, a laser and a router all need a path. A bitmap has none, which is why a cutter rejects it.

Smaller, usually much

A traced logo is a few kilobytes against a few hundred for the PNG it came from.

Editable afterwards

Recolour a shape, move a node, separate the layers. None of that is possible on a photograph of the artwork.

How it works

  1. Drop your filePNG, JPG, WebP, GIF, BMP, TIFF, ICO, SVG or EPS. Several at once if you like.
  2. It traces in this tabEdges are found and redrawn as real curves. No upload, no queue, no server.
  3. Take what you needSVG, DXF, G-code, PLT, EPS, PDF, STL and every raster, from the one conversion.

One file for $3.49, no sign-up

The preview is free and unlimited and stays that way. One clean download as a guest is $3.49, with no account and no credits; technical files — DXF, DWG, G-code, PLT, STL, embroidery, JSON — are $3.99. Plans start at $6.99 a month. No renewal unless you choose a plan.

What it includes

Questions

Is it really free?

Conversion is free and unlimited with no account, and nothing is uploaded. Pictures downloaded on the free tier carry a watermark. Machine files are never watermarked at any tier, because a mark in a cut file is extra cut paths a machine would run; they are on the one-time plan instead and arrive clean.

Do my files get uploaded?

No. The trace, every export and the render run in your browser. Open the network panel and convert something: no request carries your file. That is also why artwork under an NDA is safe here.

What formats can I convert?

Thirteen raster and vector formats are read today and sixteen are written, including GIF, BMP, TIFF and multi-size ICO, which are encoded here byte by byte because a browser canvas will not write them honestly.

Will the DXF be the right size?

Yes. Set an output width before you convert and the DXF carries it in its header, in millimetres or inches, so a 200mm part measures 200mm in the program you open it in.

Can I convert a photograph?

You can, and it is worth knowing what you get: thousands of tonal transitions become flat vector shapes, which reads as a posterised rendering rather than a copy. For logos, line art, icons and lettering it does what you expect.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes. Every tool is laid out for a phone and the tap targets are 44px, which is checked by a test rather than eyeballed.

What makes a file usable on a machine

Real geometry, not a bitmap in a wrapper

Several converters produce an SVG containing your original PNG inside an image tag. It opens, it looks right, and there is nothing for a blade to follow. Open ours and search for "<image": it is not there.

Units written into the file

A DXF without a unit declaration makes your CAM software guess, and guessing wrong is why a part comes out 25.4 times too big. Ours states them every time.

The Y axis corrected

SVG puts +Y down the screen, CAD and G-code put it up. Exporting without flipping gives a part mirrored about the X axis. It cuts, it just cuts backwards.

Nothing leaves your machine

No upload, no queue, no copy of a customer’s artwork sitting on someone else’s server.
