Graph Maker: Make a Chart or Graph Online

Make a graph from your numbers: pie, donut, 3D pie, bar, column or line, with percentages worked out, data from Excel or a CSV, your colours and heading. Download a PDF, PNG or SVG.

The chart maker is loading.

How it works

  1. Type or paste your numbers

A label and a number on each row, or paste two columns from Excel or Google Sheets, or open an .xlsx or .csv file.

  2. Choose columns or bars

Upright columns, or bars across for long labels. The scale and gridlines are set for you; negative numbers go below the line.

  3. Style it and download

A colour per bar or one palette, values on the bars with your prefix and unit ($, %, kg), a heading and a source line. PDF, PNG, JPG or SVG.

This graph maker draws the common charts from one list of numbers: a pie or donut for shares of a whole, bars or columns to compare, a line for change over time. Switch between them with one click and the chart maker keeps your data, colours and heading.

Bring the numbers from Excel or Google Sheets, or type them in; the graph generator works out percentages and scales for you.

Which graph should I make?

Parts of a whole: a pie or donut. Comparing things: a bar graph. Change over time: a line graph. To make a graph that reads well, keep to the few numbers that matter and say in the heading what they measure.

Questions

Can I make a graph from Excel?

Yes. Open the .xlsx file, or paste two columns from Excel or Google Sheets.

How do I make a bar graph?

Type each category and its number (or paste them from a spreadsheet), choose Columns for upright bars or Bars for bars across, add a heading, and download.

What is the difference between a bar graph and a column chart?

Many people call both bar graphs. A column chart has upright bars; a bar chart has bars across, which suits long names. Both are here.

Can I show values on the bars?

Yes. Under Labels choose Values; add a symbol before ($) or after (%, kg) the numbers.

Can I put a bar graph and a pie chart on the same page?

Yes. Add a chart under Charts on this page and choose its kind; up to six fit on a page, for a report or a dashboard.
