How it works

  1. Upload your image

Drag in a PNG, JPG or WebP. Nothing is uploaded, the trace runs in your browser.

  2. We rebuild the shapes

The engine finds the edges and redraws them as real curves, not a bitmap in a wrapper.

  3. Download the SVG

Scales cleanly at any size, on a business card or the side of a van.

This svg converter turns a PNG, JPG, WebP, GIF, BMP or TIFF into a true SVG: the picture is traced into paths and curves, not wrapped in an SVG tag.

To convert to svg, drop your picture in, choose colour or a single outline, and download. The whole job runs in your browser, so your artwork is never uploaded.

It is an svg converter free to use, with no account, no trial and no watermark on the file you download for everyday use.

The most common job is to convert png to svg - a logo or icon with a transparent background. The transparency stays transparent, holes in letters stay holes, and corners stay sharp.

A free SVG converter for pictures: this svg converter traces a PNG, JPG, WebP or HEIC into real vector paths - picture to SVG, not a picture wrapped in an SVG tag. The svg converter free of sign-up and of upload.

Most converters give a photo an oil-painting look: traced at its own size, every colour patch is a few pixels across and reads as a dab of paint, and fine detail is smoothed away. Here a small photo (up to 600 px) is traced at twice its size, pixel for pixel, and scaled back: measured on four photos, the match with the original (SSIM) went from 0.80 to 0.92 and the fine detail kept from 70% to 90%.

Selling on Etsy, Shopify or Merch by Amazon? Print-on-demand needs artwork that stays sharp at 4500 px and beyond: a trace into vector paths does, a stretched PNG does not. Flat colours stay flat, edges stay crisp, and there is no oil-painting smear for a print shop to reject.

Why it matters

Real geometry, not a wrapper

Several popular converters base64-embed your original bitmap inside an SVG tag. That file does not scale, cut or separate. Open ours and there is no <image> tag anywhere in it.

Corners stay corners

Sharp angles are detected and kept sharp, while curves between them are smoothed. A logo comes back with its corners square.

Holes stay holes

Counters in lettering and enclosed shapes trace with opposite winding, so they render and cut as holes rather than filling in.

Nothing leaves your machine

No upload, no queue, and no copy of your artwork on someone else’s server.

Questions

How big should my image be?

Around 1000 pixels on the long edge is a comfortable floor for a logo. Below roughly 500 the edges are already soft, and the trace follows that softness faithfully because it cannot know the blur was not intended.

Can I convert a photograph?

You can, and it is worth knowing what you get: thousands of tonal transitions become flat vector shapes, which reads as a posterised rendering rather than a faithful copy. For logos, line art, icons and lettering it does exactly what you expect.

Is the original file better?

Always. If the vector original exists somewhere, it beats any trace, ours included.
