Laser-Ready Vectors From Any Image

Drop a logo, drawing or photo. It is traced into closed paths your laser follows exactly, sized in millimetres, as SVG for Glowforge and xTool and DXF for LightBurn - in your browser.

Works with: Glowforge · xTool · LightBurn · Epilog · Trotec

Drop several files at once to convert the whole folder in one pass.

Conversion settings

Trace settings

Full-colour trace for print and web.

Fine-tune

Raise it to clear dust, grain and stray dots; 0 keeps every mark.

Untick for pixel art: the outline then follows every pixel edge.

With Remove background: how close a colour must be to the background to go with it.

Machine output

Height follows the source aspect ratio.

Laser and Router follow the traced outlines. Engrave photo burns the picture itself, line by line, for photos and portraits.

Heat transfer vinyl is pressed face down, so it has to be cut mirrored. The second box is the overcut in millimetres: a drag knife starts each shape pointing the wrong way, and running past the start covers that stretch properly so the piece weeds out clean.

in the output unit: how far a 3D print stands up
mm, 0 for none

Beam or bit width. Left at zero the tool runs down the centre of the line, so a part finishes one tool width undersize. Set it and the path is offset by half, with holes offset the opposite way.

Holes before the part that holds them, so nothing comes loose while there is still cutting to do. Also shortens the travel between cuts.

What Laser mode does to your file

Closed paths

Every outline ends where it starts, so the laser cuts a piece free in one pass instead of leaving a tab or cutting a gap twice.

Real millimetres

The SVG and DXF state their size, so Glowforge, xTool Creative Space and LightBurn open them at the width you set.

SVG and DXF together

SVG for Glowforge and xTool, DXF for LightBurn, RDWorks and Fusion 360, in one cut-ready ZIP at the same size.

No burn-away details

Specks and pinholes under 1 mm at your size are left out, so there is no stray burn and no fragment falling through the honeycomb.

Flat fills for engraving

Colours come out as solid shapes, which LightBurn and Glowforge engrave as fills and can separate by colour into cut and engrave layers.

G-code too

For a diode laser or a controller without its own software, G-code with your feed rate and power comes from the same trace.

Questions

Can I use the SVG straight in Glowforge?

Yes. Upload it in the Glowforge app; it arrives at the size set here, and each colour becomes a step you can set to cut, score or engrave.

Which file for LightBurn?

Either: LightBurn opens SVG and DXF. The DXF from the cut-ready ZIP keeps millimetres exactly, which is what LightBurn expects.

What pictures work best?

Logos, line drawings and silhouettes with clear edges. A photograph traces into many small shapes; for engraving a photo, use the photo engraving converter, which keeps its tones.

Do I need to clean up the file?

Specks and pinholes too small to cut are removed, and every path is closed. Check the preview for anything you did not expect before you send it to the laser.

Is it free?

Yes, and nothing is uploaded.
