Online Whiteboard: Free Board to Brainstorm, Plan and Teach
A free online whiteboard in your browser: sticky notes, a pen and highlighter, shapes and arrows that stay joined, pictures, frames and templates for brainstorms, kanban, mind maps and lessons. Saves as you go; download as PNG, PDF or SVG.
How it works
Open the board
It opens on a brainstorm to play with, or pick a template: kanban, mind map, SWOT, retrospective, weekly plan, flowchart or lesson plan. Double-click anywhere for a sticky note.
Draw, write and connect
A pen and a highlighter, sticky notes in ten colours, text, eight shapes, arrows that stay joined to the shapes they point at, pictures, frames and stickers. Scroll to move round the board, Ctrl and scroll (or pinch) to zoom.
Keep it or share it
The board saves in this browser as you go, and you can keep as many boards as you like. Download it as a PNG, SVG or PDF to share, or as a board file to open again on another computer.
An online whiteboard that works in any browser
This online whiteboard is an endless board in the browser: stick notes, draw with a pen, add shapes and arrows, drop in pictures, and move round it with a scroll or a pinch. A free online whiteboard with nothing to install, it works with a mouse, a stylus or a finger.
Use it as a digital whiteboard in a lesson, a virtual whiteboard for planning on your own, or a brainstorming board: paste a list and every line becomes one of the sticky notes online, ready to sort.
Templates to start from
Brainstorm, kanban board, mind map, SWOT analysis, retrospective, weekly planner, flowchart and lesson plan, each filled in. Add as many to one board as you like: each lands beside what is there.
An online whiteboard for teaching
Write and draw on a tablet, highlight, add pictures and stickers, and frame each part of the lesson. As an online whiteboard for teaching, it downloads as a PDF for the class afterwards.
Saved as you go
The whiteboard app keeps your boards in this browser as you work, with undo and redo. Whiteboard online work moves between computers as a board file.

Why it matters
Nothing to install, no sign-up to try
It runs in the browser on a laptop, a tablet or a phone, with a mouse, a pen or a finger.
Arrows that follow
Join two shapes or notes and move either one: the arrow follows, so a flowchart or mind map stays tidy while you rearrange it.
Paste a list, get notes
Paste lines of text and each becomes a sticky note, ready to sort into groups for a brainstorm or a retrospective.

Questions
Can I put pictures on the board?
Yes: drag them on, paste them, or use the picture tool. They are kept small enough to save in the browser.
Does it work on a tablet or phone?
Yes. Draw with a finger or a pen, pinch to zoom and drag with two fingers.
Is this online whiteboard free?
Yes, converting is free: the conversion and checking the result cost nothing, and the work runs in your browser, so nothing is uploaded. The side-by-side preview on the converter pages comes with a free account. Saving the finished file is paid: $3.49 for one file ($3.99 for a technical file such as DXF, G-code, STL or embroidery) with no account needed, or included in a plan from $6.99 a month. Downloads follow the site plan, the same as every tool here.
Where is my board saved?
In this browser, on this device, as you work; nothing is uploaded. To move a board to another computer, download it as a board file and open it there.
Can I use it for teaching?
Yes. Use the lesson plan template, write and draw with a pen or a finger on a tablet, drop in pictures, and download the board as a PDF for the class afterwards.
Can several people edit the same board at once?
Not yet: a board lives in one browser. Share it as a picture or PDF, or send the board file so someone else can open and carry on with it.
What are the keyboard shortcuts?
V select, H move, P pen, M highlighter, E eraser, N note, T text, R shapes, A arrows, F frame. Ctrl+Z undo, Ctrl+D duplicate, Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V copy and paste, Delete removes, Shift+1 shows the whole board, and holding space lets you drag the board.
