WEBP to PNG for KDP: AI coloring pages at 300 DPI
Here you convert AI images from WEBP to PNG for KDP in one go. ChatGPT, Midjourney and Gemini save WEBP files around 1024 px, which KDP will not take and which print soft. This webp to png for kdp converter makes each one a PNG at your trim size, at 300 dpi, with the resolution written into the file.
Built for AI images for KDP coloring books: tick "clean line art" and the grey fuzz, cream paper and speckle AI leaves behind become pure black lines on pure white, the look of a printed coloring page. WEBP to PNG 300 dpi for any KDP trim size, portrait or landscape, with margins.
From Midjourney to KDP or a ChatGPT image to PNG at 300 dpi, drop the whole batch. AI coloring pages for KDP download as a ZIP of PNGs or one PDF with a picture a page.
Why KDP needs 300 dpi
KDP prints at 300 dpi. A 1024 px picture covers 3.4 in at that density; stretched to fill an 8.5 × 11 in page it prints at about 120 dpi and looks blurred. Enlarging it here to 2250 × 3000 px (the page minus half-inch margins) with a Lanczos filter, then cleaning the lines, gives crisp edges at print size.
After the conversion
Make the book interior in the KDP coloring page maker (PDF or Word, blank backs), and the cover in the KDP cover converter.

Why it matters
300 dpi, really
The pixels are there (a 1024 px picture is enlarged to 2250 px for an 8.5 x 11 page with half-inch margins) and the file says 300 dpi, so KDP, Canva, Word and InDesign place it at the right size instead of reading 72 dpi.
Clean coloring pages
AI line art comes with grey fuzz, a cream paper tone and speckle. Cleaning makes the paper pure white and the lines pure black, with a soft edge so curves stay smooth, and clears the specks.

Questions
Is it free to convert WEBP to PNG for KDP here?
Yes, with no sign-up, and your images never leave your computer.
Does cleaning change my colours?
Cleaning is for black-and-white line art. For colour pictures, leave it off and choose PNG or JPG.
Does KDP accept WEBP images?
No. KDP takes JPG, PNG and TIFF for images in a manuscript, and a PDF for a print interior. Convert WEBP to PNG (best for line art and coloring pages) or JPG (smaller, fine for photos) first.
Why are my AI images blurry or rejected for low resolution?
Most generators make 1024 px pictures, which is only 3.4 in at 300 dpi. Printed on an 8.5 x 11 page they are stretched to about 120 dpi. This page enlarges them to the full page at 300 dpi with a Lanczos filter; clean line art prints crisp at that size.
PNG or JPG for a coloring book?
PNG. Coloring pages are black lines on white, and PNG keeps the lines sharp with no JPEG blotches round them. JPG is fine for full-colour covers and photos.
What size should a KDP coloring page image be?
2550 x 3300 px for a full 8.5 x 11 in page at 300 dpi (2625 x 3375 px with bleed). With half-inch margins the art itself is up to 2250 x 3000 px.
Can I make the whole book here?
Download one PDF with a picture a page at your trim size, or open the <a href="kdp-coloring-pages.html">KDP coloring page maker</a> for blank backs and a Word copy. The cover is made in the <a href="kdp-cover-converter.html">KDP cover converter</a>.
Can I sell AI coloring books on KDP?
KDP allows AI-generated content, but asks you to say so when you publish, and the pictures must not copy characters or artwork you do not have the rights to.
