KML to GPX
Convert KML or KMZ from Google Earth and My Maps into GPX for Garmin, Strava, Komoot and any GPS app: placemarks as waypoints, paths as tracks.
Paste GeoJSON, KML, GPX, WKT or CSV
How it works
Add your KML
Drop a GeoJSON, TopoJSON, KML or KMZ, GPX, CSV with coordinates, WKT, or a zipped shapefile, or paste the text. It is read in your browser.
Check the map
The features are drawn on a preview with their count, geometry types, bounds and attributes, so you can see it read correctly before converting.
Download the GPX
Pick the output and download. Attributes come along; anything a format cannot hold is listed rather than dropped silently.
KML to GPX converter for your GPS
KML to GPX: placemarks become GPX waypoints with their names, and paths become tracks, so a route drawn in Google Earth or My Maps loads on a Garmin, in Strava, Komoot or any GPS app.
This KML to GPX converter also reads KMZ to GPX directly. To convert KML to GPX, drop the file and download; folders and descriptions from Google Earth to GPX come along as far as GPX can hold them, and anything it cannot (areas) is drawn as an outline track and listed.

Why it matters
Attributes kept
Names, descriptions and every property travel with the features: KML ExtendedData, shapefile .dbf fields, CSV columns and GPX names.
Nothing uploaded
Survey data, client boundaries and GPS tracks stay on your computer. The conversion runs in this tab.
Coordinates untouched
Numbers are not reprojected or quietly shifted. Precision is yours to set: six decimal places is about 11 cm.
Questions
What is a GeoJSON file?
A GeoJSON file is JSON that describes map features: points, lines and polygons with their properties, in longitude and latitude on WGS84 (RFC 7946). Web maps such as Leaflet, Mapbox, OpenLayers and Google Maps read it directly.
Which formats can I convert?
In: GeoJSON, TopoJSON, KML, KMZ, GPX, CSV (lat/lon columns or a WKT column), WKT and zipped shapefiles. Out: GeoJSON, KML, KMZ, GPX, CSV, WKT, shapefile (ZIP), SVG and DXF.
Why does my shapefile need to be zipped?
A shapefile is several files: .shp holds the shapes, .dbf the attributes and .prj the coordinate system. Zip them together and drop the ZIP so the attributes and projection come too.
Does it reproject coordinates?
No. GeoJSON, KML and GPX all use longitude and latitude, so they convert exactly. A shapefile in UTM or a national grid keeps its numbers, and the page tells you so; reproject in QGIS or ogr2ogr if you need WGS84.
Can I convert several files at once?
Yes. Pick or drop several files together: they are merged into one output, and in KML each file gets its own folder. Tick "One file per upload" to get each converted separately in a ZIP instead.
Why is my GeoJSON in the wrong place on the map?
Usually longitude and latitude are swapped (GeoJSON is longitude first), or the data is in a projected system such as UTM. The preview and the bounds show which.
