JFIF to JPG converter

What is JFIF?
JFIF (JPEG File Interchange Format) is the standard wrapper for JPEG pictures. The .jfif ending is the same picture data as .jpg; Windows sometimes saves web images with it.
Can I just rename .jfif to .jpg?
Usually yes, since the data is JPEG. Converting here does it for a whole batch and makes sure the file really is a clean JPG.

Why it matters
Every pixel kept
The picture is not resized, sharpened or smoothed. It comes out at exactly its original width and height, so no detail is lost on the way.
Transparency handled properly
PNG, WebP, GIF and ICO keep the alpha channel. JPEG and BMP cannot hold one, so transparent areas are filled white rather than turning black.
Colour as it was
Colours are carried across as they are, with no filter, no tone shift and no added compression on a lossless format.
Nothing leaves your machine
No upload, no queue and no copy of your pictures on a server: the conversion runs in your browser.
Questions
Does converting lose quality?
Not to PNG, TIFF, BMP or lossless WebP: those keep every pixel. JPEG and lossy WebP discard some detail to make the file smaller; at the default 92% quality that is not visible, and you can raise it to 100%.
Will my picture keep its size?
Yes. The width and height in pixels are exactly those of the original.
Is transparency kept?
Into PNG, WebP, GIF and ICO, yes. JPEG and BMP have no transparency, so those areas are filled white.
