Wood Burning Pattern Maker
Turn a photo into a clean pyrography pattern: fine outlines and optional shading lines, at the size of your board, to transfer and burn. Free, nothing uploaded.
How it works
Open a picture
A photo, a pet portrait, lettering or clip art: JPG, PNG or WebP, in this tab.
Set the pattern
Fine or bold lines, Detail and Line weight; add fine shading lines where you will burn darker. Type the board size so the pattern prints to fit it.
Transfer and burn
Print it, lay graphite or transfer paper under it on the wood and trace the lines, then burn along them.
Pyrography pattern maker: a photo to lines you can burn
A wood burning pattern maker turns a photo into the outlines and shading lines a pyrography pen follows. Photo to pyrography pattern, at the size of your board, in black: print it, transfer it with graphite paper and burn. Your own pyrography patterns, wood burning stencils and wood burning templates.
Why it matters
Lines to burn, not a photo
One clean outline per edge and shading as hatching, which is how a pyrography pattern is followed with the pen.
Printed to the size of the board
Set the size in cm or inches and the pattern prints exactly that big.
Nothing is uploaded

Questions
How do I transfer a wood burning pattern?
Print the pattern at size, tape it to the wood with graphite or transfer paper underneath, and trace the lines with a pencil. Some burners transfer a laser print with heat instead: mirror the pattern first for that.
Which wood is best for beginners?
Basswood, birch plywood and poplar: pale, even grain that shows the burn and takes a pattern clearly.
