Raise it to clear dust, grain and stray dots; 0 keeps every mark.
Untick for pixel art: the outline then follows every pixel edge.

Embroidery
The design is fitted inside this with 5 mm to spare on every side, before a stitch is made.
0 fills the hoop. Anything larger than the hoop is fitted to it, and the page says so.
See it on your product
Put this artwork on a 3D mug, tumbler, sign, phone case or canvas, turn it all the way round, or drop it onto a photograph of your own blank. The preview page has the product picker, the colours and the placement controls.

Upload your design
Clean vector geometry stitches far better than a noisy trace, route photos through vectorization first.
Fit to your hoop
The design is scaled to the machine field before a single stitch is generated, so density lands right by construction.
Download the stitch file
The stitched size is shown in millimetres and inches before you commit.
Free online embroidery digitizing
Veconvert is free embroidery digitizing software that runs in your browser. Embroidery digitizing here turns a JPG, PNG or SVG into a DST, PES or JEF your machine can sew: fills, satin outlines and running stitches, sized to your hoop. It is free embroidery software with nothing to install, and online embroidery digitizing that never uploads your design.
How to digitize for embroidery
- Pick simple artwork. A logo, badge or drawing with flat colours and clear edges digitizes best; a photograph does not sew well.
- Set the hoop and size. Choose your hoop (4 × 4 in up to 8 × 12 in) and the design width; it is fitted with room to spare.
- Choose the fill angle. Areas are filled at that angle with underlay; thin shapes become satin columns, lines running stitches.
- Check the stitches. The preview shows every stitch and colour, with the stitch count and sewing time.
- Download for your machine. DST for Tajima and most commercial machines, PES for Brother and Babylock, JEF for Janome. Sew a test first.

Transparent areas stay unstitched, colours become thread changes in Janome order, and the design is fitted to the hoop you pick. It is a way to convert image to embroidery file free, in your browser, for Janome, Elna and Kenmore machines.
Why it matters
Fitted before stitching, not after
Scaling a finished stitch file multiplies stitch length and row spacing together. That is why the trade says never resize a stitch file by more than 20 percent. We fit the geometry to the hoop first, then generate stitches on the final shape.
A real default hoop
Output targets the 4x4in (100x100mm) field with 5mm clearance a side, because the stated hoop size overstates the sewable area. A design fitted to 4x4 runs on nearly every domestic machine.
We refuse rather than ship an empty file
Below about 5mm on the short side, satin degenerates into a running stitch and fills drop thin spans. Handing you a correctly-hooped file with its content erased is the worse failure.
The background stays fabric
The colour that runs along the edges of your picture is taken as the fabric and left unstitched, so a logo on white sews as the logo, not as a hoop full of white thread.
Honest about the limits
This produces tatami fills with underlay and running stitches, with lock stitches and trims. Fills carry a fixed 0.2 mm of pull compensation. It does not produce variable-width satin columns, per-fabric pull compensation or per-region density tuning. On fine lettering a professional digitiser will beat it.
Is PNG to JEF worth paying for?
A JEF is the file a shop actually runs. Walk through the artwork requirements a laser cutter, a CNC shop or a sign maker publishes and the same request appears: send something a machine can follow. What turns up instead is a screenshot or a logo pulled off a website at 600 pixels, and somebody redraws it by hand — twenty-five to forty minutes — or sends it to an art service at $25 to $60 a file.
The conversion here is free and unlimited and stays that way. The paid plan is what unlocks the machine formats, which are never watermarked at any tier because a mark in a cut file is extra cut paths a machine would run.
Questions
Which machines read JEF?
Janome (MC and Memory Craft series), Elna and Kenmore embroidery machines.
Will the JEF be the right size for my hoop?
Pick the hoop and the design is fitted inside it, with a preview of the stitch-out.
Which format does my machine need?
Brother, Babylock and several Bernina models read PES. Janome, Elna and Kenmore want JEF. Commercial Tajima-style multi-heads want DST.
Why does DST have no colours?
DST carries no thread palette at all, it is a colourless stitch list, and the operator works from a job sheet. PES wraps a block that includes a thread list, so the machine shows the design in colour on its screen.
Will the colours match exactly?
No. PES colours are indices into Brother’s own palette, so what the machine shows is its nearest match rather than your exact artwork colour.
Can I embroider a photograph?
Not well. Embroidery sews flat areas of colour; the shading in a photograph becomes a crowd of tiny fills. A logo, a drawing or clip art with a few solid colours sews cleanly.
How many stitches will it be?
The page shows the stitch count, the colours with the nearest Brother and Janome thread for each, and the sewn size in millimetres and inches before you download.
Is this free embroidery digitizing software?
Yes. It is free embroidery digitizing software that runs in your browser: no download, no account and no trial. Your picture is digitized on your own computer and never uploaded.
What is embroidery digitizing?
Embroidery digitizing is turning artwork into a stitch file an embroidery machine can sew: every area becomes fill stitches or satin columns, every line a running stitch, in the order the machine sews them, with the colour changes between. The result is a DST, PES or JEF file rather than a picture.
Is there free embroidery software that works online?
This is free embroidery software online: digitize a JPG, PNG or SVG into DST, PES or JEF, open and check a stitch file, see its size, stitch count and hoop fit, and convert between formats. Nothing to install on Windows, Mac, a Chromebook or a phone.
How does online embroidery digitizing work here?
Online embroidery digitizing here happens in the page itself: the picture is traced into clean colour areas, each area is filled with stitches at the angle you choose, outlines get satin or running stitches, and the design is fitted to your hoop before the file is written.
How do I digitize for embroidery?
Start with a simple, clear picture - a logo or drawing with flat colours. Choose your hoop and the design width, pick the fill angle, and convert. Check the stitch preview and the stitch count, then download DST for Tajima and commercial machines, PES for Brother and Babylock, or JEF for Janome. Sew a test on scrap fabric first.
