Blueprint to DXF
Trace a blueprint or a drawing sheet into DXF. Set the real width from a known dimension on the sheet and everything else follows.
Works with: AutoCAD · Fusion 360 · LibreCAD · QCAD · DraftSight
Drop several files at once to convert the whole folder in one pass. Got a different format? A PNG, JPG, HEIC, PDF, SVG or DXF still comes out as DXF.
× removes a colour and its shapes; click a swatch to change it. Every format follows.

Batch
Every file is traced on its own at its own resolution, with the settings in the panel. A file converted here comes out identical to the same file converted by itself.

Trace settings
Full-colour trace for print and web.
Fine-tune
Raise it to clear dust, grain and stray dots; 0 keeps every mark.
Untick for pixel art: the outline then follows every pixel edge.
With Remove background: how close a colour must be to the background to go with it.
Machine output
Height follows the source aspect ratio.
Laser and Router follow the traced outlines. Engrave photo burns the picture itself, line by line, for photos and portraits.
Heat transfer vinyl is pressed face down, so it has to be cut mirrored. The second box is the overcut in millimetres: a drag knife starts each shape pointing the wrong way, and running past the start covers that stretch properly so the piece weeds out clean.
Beam or bit width. Left at zero the tool runs down the centre of the line, so a part finishes one tool width undersize. Set it and the path is offset by half, with holes offset the opposite way.
Holes before the part that holds them, so nothing comes loose while there is still cutting to do. Also shortens the travel between cuts.
See it on your product
Put this artwork on a 3D mug, tumbler, sign, phone case or canvas, turn it all the way round, or drop it onto a photograph of your own blank. The preview page has the product picker, the colours and the placement controls.

Upload the drawing
Read in the browser. Nothing is uploaded.
Check units and extents
The checker reports what the file declares before you rely on it.
Export
Units are written into the output so the next program does not have to guess.
Blueprint to DXF converter: free and online
Convert blueprint to DXF in your browser: drop in a Blueprint file and download the DXF. The file is converted on your own device and never uploaded, so this blueprint to dxf converter is safe for private and confidential files.
DXF is the drawing exchange format of CAD, laser and CNC software, from AutoCAD to LightBurn.
Units and scale are kept, so a part drawn at 100 mm opens at 100 mm in AutoCAD, Fusion 360, LibreCAD or QCAD.

Why it matters
Units survive the trip
The most common way a CAD interchange goes wrong is a file arriving with no declared units. Our DXF output always states them.
Extents reported, not assumed
The real drawing bounds are read from the geometry rather than trusted from a header that may be stale.
Entity types flagged
SPLINE, ELLIPSE, HATCH and TEXT are the entities that most often fail on import. They are reported before you find out at the machine.
Nothing uploaded
Client drawings stay on your machine, which matters when the work is under NDA.
Is Blueprint to DXF worth paying for?
A DXF is the file a shop actually runs. Walk through the artwork requirements a laser cutter, a CNC shop or a sign maker publishes and the same request appears: send something a machine can follow. What turns up instead is a screenshot or a logo pulled off a website at 600 pixels, and somebody redraws it by hand — twenty-five to forty minutes — or sends it to an art service at $25 to $60 a file.
The conversion here is free and unlimited and stays that way. The paid plan is what unlocks the machine formats, which are never watermarked at any tier because a mark in a cut file is extra cut paths a machine would run.
Questions
How do I convert Blueprint to DXF?
Drop your Blueprint file on this page, check the preview, and press Download. The DXF is made in a few seconds, with no sign-up.
Is my Blueprint file uploaded anywhere?
No. The blueprint to dxf conversion runs in your browser, on your own device. The file never leaves it.
Can you read DWG?
Yes, in your browser: AutoCAD R13 to 2018 files, with the exception of the 2007 format, which is refused with a message rather than misread. Lines, arcs, circles, polylines, splines, ellipses, blocks and layers are read; text and hatch fills are counted and reported but not drawn. DWG can be written too, as AutoCAD 2000, which every current CAD program opens.
What DXF version do you write?
R2000 by default, which current CAD and CAM packages read. R12 is available for older controllers.
Will my layers survive?
Layer names and colours are kept, and layers that were off or frozen stay that way. Blocks are exploded into their shapes; attributes and paper-space layouts are not carried across.
